Meet the Team

Tom Crater, Founding Partner, began his forestry career in 1967 with the Texas Forest Service. Since starting his consulting business in 1973 he has assisted landowners all across East Texas and Louisiana.

Carleton Johns, Partner, worked as a timber buyer for Pulpwood Producers, Inc. in Simsboro, Louisiana for five years before joining Tom in 1991. Carleton's experiences as a timber buyer have allowed him to help landowners understand the benefits of working with a forestry consultant.

Mike Hartman, Forester and Technology Coordinator, has been with Tom Crater & Associate since 1995. Mike's knowledge of computers has allowed the business to remain up to date with the changes in technology, allowing us to better serve our clients.
John Allen, Certified Forest Technician, joined Tom Crater & Associate in 1997. John is experienced in wildlife, roadwork, and all phases of fieldwork.

Nancy Helton, Office Manager, joined Tom Crater & Associate in 1998. Nancy's knowledge of mapping and administration allows us to serve our clients more efficiently.
